Another huge success for the Big Ideas Weekend

160 young people, youth workers and partners were once again part of the biggest event in youth work

The tree-crowned peaceful surroundings of the University of Stirling campus linked with glorious sunshine set the scene for this year’s Big Ideas Weekend. Delegates could choose to learn new skills on positive coping strategies, special effects make-up, the sexual health programme ‘Peaches & Aubergines’, street art, coding and much more.

The Big Ideas Weekend creates a space for young people, young leaders, volunteers and workers to learn new skills, network, share ideas and to celebrate the impact of community-based youth work.

If you took away the youth work part of my life, I would not be who I am today

The funders fair and market place stalls of organisations presenting their youth programmes invited to exchange ideas, information and experiences. The immensely popular colour run was of course again part of the event.

Youth Scotland’s young leaders programme iLead which supports young people to become peer leaders through the different stages of the programme was proudly launched at the weekend.

We want to thank all participants, the wonderful workshop holders, our amazing young advisory team, the funders and the market stall holders. Special thanks to CashBack for Communities who have once again helped make the Big Ideas Weekend possible through their funding support.
