Young Advisors design, organise and deliver another fantastic Reach event

In the lush, green surroundings of Fordell Firs, the Scouts Scotland HQ, over 120 young people and volunteers enjoyed a packed outdoors themed day in glorious March sunshine.
After a high-energy start to the day, young people enjoyed various thematic workshops: den-building and safe fire-making in ‘Outdoors’; getting creative with sustainable art materials in ‘Eco Crafts’; team-building games like giant rock-paper-scissors in ‘Active Fun’ and later groups made seed balls to help pollinating insects in ‘Pollinators’. Meanwhile, volunteers and workers took part in worker upskilling with workshops on ‘Creative Evaluation and Consultation’ and ‘Youth Participation’.
Once the afternoon workshops were concluded, all delegates come together again and young people completed their evidence recording before earning their Hi5 Awards (SCQF Level 2) right there and then!
Thanks to the fantastic weather, young people continued to push themselves by tackling more challenges in the evening entertainment, such as climbing Fordell Tower, bungee cord racing, roasting S’mores and festival crafts. Only the arrival of darkness finally brought the day to a close.
It's been amazing! I really liked the den-building and doing team games outside. Everyone's been dead nice and we all got awards at the end too!
