The post is a rare opportunity for the right person to get involved in a leadership role within Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Youth Work Service. This post is open to those with a degree level qualification in Youth Work or Community Learning & Development (or equivalent) or those with sufficient experience in Youth Work. Applicants must have significant experience in working with young people and be comfortable working within community settings with our most vulnerable young people, managing a range of projects at the same time and working in a fast paced environment.
The key responsibilities of the post include:
- The Annandale & Eskdale Area provides a range of youth work services to young people including young parent groups, lunch clubs, groups for young people with Additional Support Needs and Disabilities, Music and Arts work, issue based groups as well as work within our Secondary Schools. You will lead the development of all our work in the area and have a role supporting some of our regional participation networks and projects.
- This post is a rare opportunity to lead the next phase of Youth Work within this area and help take work with young people to the next level and support even more young people within the Annandale & Eskdale area.
- You should be motivated and interested in working with young people aged 12+ and have significant experience in youth work or community work and be comfortable working within community settings with our most vulnerable young people and managing a team of part time Youth Workers and volunteers.
