About Alex
Alex holds an MSc in Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh and a dual-major BA in Film & Media Studies and Race, Gender & Cultural Studies from The College of William and Mary. She began her career in traditional trade publishing, where she spent several years in editorial with an award-winning Chicago-based book publisher. Between her print media projects, she enthusiastically took up work in digital engagement and multimedia storytelling, developing a knack for creating graphics, video and social media content. A passionate advocate for literacy and education access, she has also been volunteering as a tutor/mentor for 10+ years with a variety of youth work organisations in the US and UK. When she’s not bouncing around Youth Scotland’s social media channels, she loves planning themed dinner parties, playing improv games and sharing surprising etymology facts with anyone who will listen.
