This is the story of year 1 of Generation CashBack.
Thanks to the four strands of Start-up, Grow, Lead and Events, Generation CashBack has helped new groups working with young people, get started, grow and bring invaluable youth work opportunities to some of Scotland's most disadvantaged communities and young people; this is their story.
Generation CashBack has been funded as part of Phase 4 of the CashBack for Communities programme. It is delivered by a partnership consortium of four of the largest volunteer-led youth work organisations in Scotland, comprising of: Scouts Scotland, Girlguiding Scotland, The Boys’ Brigade Scotland, and Youth Scotland.
It centres around four strands of project delivery tasked with growing membership in disadvantaged communities. The four strands are: developing new self-sustaining groups (Start-up), supporting existing groups (Grow), providing leadership and training capacity (Lead), and developing events to celebrate success and share learning specific to Generation CashBack (Events).
It’s completely stepped me out of my comfort zone and that’s something that I don’t normally do a lot but it’s really good and I enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone because I learn a lot about myself, I can actually do more and gain more confidence from it.
