Youth Participation

Youth Scotland offers a range of training for workers to support the delivery of youth participation packs and training programmes. See below for info on training, including dates in 2009, or visit the Youth Participation project page to find out more about these projects.

Involvement Training Tutor Training

Training is available for workers interested in delivering the involvement training programme for young people in their area.  The programme is in three stages. It includes tutor training for workers, a residential project for young people and the practical delivery of a project for young people in their own community. The tutor training provides workers with a comprehensive set of tools to help young people aged 14 – 18 years develop the skills and confidence needed to play a more active role in their youth group, school, home and community.  

TRAINING DATES FOR 2009: 25th June in Edinburgh, 18th August in Galashiels and 10th November in Edinburgh. To book a place, download and fill in the registration form below.

Bored Meetings? Training

Bored Meetings? – a pack to support young people’s involvement in making decisions that affect them.  

Training for youth and community workers is available, taking them through the pack and showing them how it can be used in their own groups.  This also includes details of how young people’s involvement in the training activities can be accredited through the Youth Achievement Awards.

Keep It Real Training

Keep It Real– a resource pack to support young people’s participation in planning youth work programmes and in decision making processes.

The training supports youth and community workers to use the Keep It Real pack with young people, helping to increase their confidence, encouraging them to get involved in decision making and demonstrating how their involvement can be accredited.
