Youth Achievement Awards

Youth Achievement Awards offer a peer assessed approach to recognising and accrediting achievements and contributions of young people aged 14 plus.

SCQF

The Scottish Qualifications Authority has confirmed the credit rating and levelling of the Youth Achievement Awards against the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework.

What is the SCQF?

“It’s fantastic to hear that the responsibility I take in my volunteering at the Peer Education Project is comparable to a Higher when I’m still doing my Standard Grades!”
Youth Achievement Awards Holder, Dundee

The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) is a way of comparing the wide range of Scottish qualifications. It covers achievements from school, college, university, and work-based qualifications, and now also includes the Youth Achievement Awards.  Each qualification is given a level and a number of credit points.

  • Level – There are 12 levels within the framework which indicate the complexity of learning.
  • Credit – Credit points show the volume of learning undertaken to achieve the qualification.

The SCQF enables employers, learners and the public in general to understand the full range of Scottish qualifications and how different types of qualifications can contribute to improving the skills of the workforce.

Where is Youth Achievement Awards placed on the SCQF?
