Youth Achievement Awards

Youth Achievement Awards offer a peer assessed approach to recognising and accrediting achievements and contributions of young people aged 14 plus.

Youth Achievement Awards Induction Training

Youth Scotland Awards Induction Training Days are open to everyone interested in supporting young people to gain Youth Achievement and/or Dynamic Youth Awards. This training provides workers with a general understanding of the rationale behind the Awards and how they complement their existing youth work practice. Workers will gain a working knowledge of the Awards, enabling them to promote and support the Awards within their youth groups.

Places are allocated on a first come basis and cost £75 per head (discounted rate of £50 for registered/affiliated groups or agencies). This includes all training materials, refreshments and lunch.

Please note: This training is a requirement for anyone wishing to support young people to gain the Awards. Operating Agencies receive YAA training events each year as part of their registration package. If you wish to access training through your Operating Agency please contact them directly. Agency Moderator Training

Following on from Youth Achievement Awards Induction Training, this training is for workers looking to take on the role of Agency Moderator to quality assure the Awards within their Operating Agency.

The session, delivered by ASDAN, aims to help Agency Moderators effectively carry out their Quality Assurance role within the groups they are supporting to complete the Awards, helping them to understand the requirements of young people completing each Award level; understand quality assurance and accountability in relation to the Awards; and to be aware of the common issues that arise when moderating the Awards. This training is delivered around an External Moderation Event, which it uses as a practical training exercise.
