Peer Education - Training for Youth Workers

This interactive course is aimed at youth workers who wish to develop the knowledge and skills required to engage young people in peer education and youth led projects.

Participants will be given access to training materials, resources and information to help create a peer education training toolkit which they can take back to their own youth work setting.

The course will also provide participants with further knowledge about Sectarianism in Scotland and how peer education can be used to tackle this issue within youth work settings.

The course will cover:

  • How to set up peer education programmes
  • Peer education models 
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • Practical tools and creative techniques for engaging young people
  • Best Practice Examples and signposting to useful resources

Event Aims:

  • To equip participants with the knowledge and skills to engage young people in peer education and youth led projects
  • To increase participants confidence in tackling sectarianism with young people

Youth workers who wish to learn how to deliver peer education and who are committed to setting up programmes of peer education and youth led projects within their own setting.
