respectme Grant Fund
National Anti-Bullying Week takes place across the UK and Ireland from 14-18 November 2011. To mark the occasion respectme, Scotland’s Anti-Bullying Service and Youth Scotland want to encourage and support anti-bullying campaigning at a local level.
Youth Scotland groups are being offered the opportunity to apply for funding of up to £1000 to develop anti-bullying themed events and activities. Whether your youth group has a passion for music, drama, video production or art, we want you to be as creative as possible. You might want to record a song, develop a play or produce a mural; the brief is fairly open, but we want you to come up with ideas to communicate the anti-bullying messages that you think people need to hear.
Who can apply?
Local youth groups which meet all the following criteria can apply:
- Have members which include young people aged 10 or over,
- Based in Scotland, and
- An affiliated member of Youth Scotland
This is to ensure all groups awarded a grant have the appropriate national organisational support, with clear operating policies in place, and are properly constituted.
Developing your ideas
Throughout the project, you will have access to staff from Youth Scotland and respectme who can advise on the activity you’re planning, and offer advice and guidance on promotional activities surrounding it. If you have any questions about what you’re planning to do, or ways in which you want to use the money, someone will always be there to help.
A range of anti-bullying resources which you may find useful are available on the respectme website.
Timescales
The deadline for applications is the 1st September 2011.
Successful groups will be notified of the outcome of their application during the week beginning the 5th of September 2011. All unsuccessful applicants will be notified within 21 days of the deadline date.
All work must be completed and in place to be promoted during Anti Bullying Week 2011 which takes place in the week beginning Monday 14 November 2011.
