Sports Leaders UK Award in Dance Leadership
These 5 day residential and non residential courses are held all around the country. The Sports Leaders UK Award in Dance leadership course is designed to be practical and challenging, but most of all fun!
The Leadership Awards use dance and sport to help participants develop vital skills such as planning, organisation and motivation, as well as improving communication skills and building confidence. Young women will also have the opportunity to take part in a variety of other sessions (such as confidence building and groupwork), as well as time to socialise and relax together in the evenings (singstar anyone?).

Sports Leader Day Certificate
The Day Certificate in Sports Leadership is a hands-on, practical course and a good introduction to the Award in Dance Leadership course.
It is divided into eight small sections of work. These include an introduction to sports leadership, the exploration of different types of communication skills, how to take control of a group, organisational tools, an introduction to safety in sport, and how to adapt activities for a chosen group. The day culminates with participants putting what they have learnt into practice by leading simple activities for the rest of the group.
All successful Award in Dance Leadership applicants are invited to attend this one day course prior to the 5 day course. It is a good opportunity to get a ‘feel’ for the leadership course and meet other participants and staff.
