Dynamic Youth Awards

The Dynamic Youth Awards recognise the achievements of young people aged 10 to 14 years.

Because the Awards are an open framework, the possibilities for creativity are limited only by the young people's and the staff's imagination.  While we encourage learning providers to allow young people to be imaginative in their approach to the Awards, we also recognize that they offer young people an excellent opportunity to gain accreditation for something they already do, or for something the learning provider would like them to do.

We have had submissions where young people have been involved in:

  • Painting projects
  • Community clean-ups
  • Drama groups
  • Peer education initiatives
  • Buddying systems
  • Whole-year 'rich task' projects
  • Sport groups
  • Transition projects
  • Youth council
  • ...and a whole lot more!

Above you will find examples of good practice with both Dynamic Youth Awards and Youth Achievement Awards.  In each case the schools/youth groups have given us permission to publicise their good work.  Feel free to use these ideas for inspiration, and please do get in touch with us if you think you have a project which could be showcased here!

We use the Curriculum for Excellence Experience and Outcomes document to highlight the skills learners have picked up during their participation with Dynamic Youth Awards and Youth Achievement Awards.  Click here to be taken to the Education Scotland website from where you can download your own copy of the Experiences and Outcomes document.
