Youth Scotland at the Scottish Learning Festival 2013 - 25 and 26 September

The Scottish Learning Festival is back in force for 2013, with a focus on how to increase achievement and attainment for learners in Scotland. The theme is "Raising the bar in Scotland - transforming lives through learning".

The organisers - Education Scotland - hope to attract a larger audience from the further education and community learning and development sectors this year, building on the success of the CLD Village last year.

SLF 2012 included the first Community Learning and Development Village in the Exhibition Hall hosted by the CLD Standards Council.  SLF 2013 hopes to build on last year's success and a bigger, bolder CLD Village will hope to attract more attention and promote the value of non-formal learning.

Youth Scotland is attending SLF 2013 with several events lined up:

Dynamic Youth Awards Seminar

Delegates will hear from staff and pupils of Willowbank School from North Lanarkshire on their experiences and the impact of using the Dynamic Youth Awards and how the Awards have helped pupils to achieve their full potential. There will also be input from Youth Scotland, the Award provider, and an opportunity for delegates to ask questions. Book your place on the seminar.

Youth Scotland's Anti-Sectarianism Work Seminar

The anti-sectarianism work of youth workers has reached local communities across the nation. Youth Scotland Senior Development Workers will present an overview of Youth Scotland's Stand Up To Sectarianism project, as well as discussing its impact and outcomes and how to get involved in anti-sectarianism work with young people. Book your place on the seminar.

Exhibition stand at the CLD Village

Youth Scotland will be at the CLD Village with a range of information on the suite of awards offered for young people, training opportunities and other projects and resources available for attendees of the Festival. Download the brochure below to see the range of exhibitors at the event.

Held at the SECC in Glasgow over the 25 - 26 September, the SLF 2013 promises to be an inspiring event. The Festival is completely free to attend and you will be able to register and can book preferred seminars at
